The Big Day....May 14, 2009
May 14, 2009, started like any other day on bedrest. I tossed and turned all night long....waking up every hour to pee (Lucy was resting right on my bladder the whole pregnancy). I literally ROLLED out of bed that morning...ate my usual two big bowls of cereal....and took my usual spot on the couch until I got enough energy to clean the house for the billionth time that week. Let's just say I had the nesting bug really bad....by around 3 pm I started noticing that I was even more uncomfortable that I normally was....which was pretty hard to beat. Pat got home...we ate dinner and he noticed that I was breathing really hard. His mom called when we finished dinner and he was telling her how I was feeling. Now, Pat's mom is a supermom...she is the mother of 8 and grandmother of 15. She is an expert on having babies....she told me to call my doctor....I could be going into labor. At first, I wasn't going to call...but something told me I should just in case. Good thing I did cuz as soon as I saw my Dr. he said we were going to have the babies that night!!! I wasn't nervous the whole pregnancy...but at that moment I became the most nervous I had ever been! Due to the high risk with vaginal delivery with twins, we decided to go for the c-section. We got to the hospital at around 7pm...and was ready to go at 1030pm........it went pretty fast. Lucy was born at 1035pm and Gibson was born at 1036pm. The song that was playing in the operating room was Everybody was Kung Foo Fighting. Nice.
